OVERVIEW

Active Autowerke has been an industry leader in engineering high quality BMW performance products for over 40 years, and the F87 mid pipe is a valuable addition to their M2 Competition collection — designed specifically to eliminate the highly restrictive nature of the S55 exhaust, creating optimal flow and improving performance. It also addresses the thin, buzzy factory note many owners describe as sounding like a weed-eater; after research and testing Active Autowerke traced it to the synchronization of the two turbos and answered with a single mid pipe, using an oval section so a 3.5 inch pipe could be fitted without creating ground clearance problems. Engineered for an exact fit on the BMW M2 Competition, the difference in power is noticeable the moment it is installed.
