Pure Turbos Stage 1 Upgrade Turbos – BMW N63 / N63tu

OVERVIEW

The Pure Stage 1 is Pure Turbos' OEM-based turbo upgrade for the N63 and N63TU 4.4L twin-turbo V8 used in the F-Series 5, 6 and 7 Series, the E70 / E71 and F15 / F16 X5 and X6 xDrive50i, and the F01 / F02 ALPINA B7. Pure rebuilds the factory turbochargers with a billet compressor wheel, a larger high-flow turbine wheel and an upgraded bearing housing, and keeps the OEM housings for a factory-like installation.

This is a core-exchange upgrade. Choose your engine (Non-TU, TU or ALPINA B7), then choose whether to send your factory turbos to Pure first or pay a refundable core deposit and return your cores after your upgraded turbos arrive.

TECH RESOURCES

Additional Parts Required

• Custom ECU tune: required by Pure Turbos for engine safety and to reach the rated power. Tunes we stock: bootmod3 N63TU tune.
• Turbo gaskets, oil and coolant line seals: single-use items that should be replaced during installation.
• Supporting fuel system: needed at higher power levels. Confirm your fueling before ordering; we can advise.

Installation

• Pure Turbos does not publish installation instructions or videos for this upgrade; professional installation is recommended.
• Pure Turbos installation, pre-lube and break-in procedure (manufacturer FAQ): pureturbos.com/faq. Pre-lube the turbocharger through the oil inlet, spin the compressor wheel to coat the bearings, idle 5–10 minutes without revving, then drive on low boost / light throttle until the car is properly tuned.
• Pure Turbos core return sheet (PDF): pure-turbos-core-return-sheet.pdf. Print it, fill it in and include it with your core shipment.
• Before sending cores to Pure, remove all accessories and hardware from them (oil lines, coolant lines, actuators, inlets and similar). Pure discards anything that is not part of the core unit.

Notes

• Send-in option: lead time starts once Pure receives your turbos.
• Core deposit option: $800 (Non-TU), $1,200 (TU) or $1,800 (ALPINA B7). The deposit is refunded once your factory turbos are returned to Pure within 60 days of receiving your upgrade.
• Choose the variant that matches your engine: Non-TU N63 (2008–2012), N63TU (2013–2019) or ALPINA B7 (2013–2015).
• This upgrade does not cover the later N63R / N63TU2 / N63TU3 engines (G-Series M550i, 750i, M850i, X5 / X6 / X7 M50i).
• Pure Turbos includes a limited 1-year / unlimited-mile warranty.
