CSF Engine Oil Cooler – BMW M240i / M340i / M440i (G42 / G2x, B58)

OVERVIEW

The CSF #8372 High-Performance Engine Oil Cooler replaces the factory engine oil cooler on the B58-powered G42 M240i, G20 M340i and G22/G23/G26 M440i. On heavily modified B58 builds, oil temperatures can climb past the safe limit and send the car into limp mode; this cooler adds capacity to keep temperatures in check.

It uses a 32mm microtube core — about 14% thicker than the 28mm OEM core — with robot-welded construction in place of the OEM's brazed design. OEM-style inlet and outlet connections, reused OEM rubber seals and the factory ducting and shrouds make it a drop-in fit, and a metal rock guard protects the core from road debris.

Additional Parts Required

• None. CSF specifies no additional hardware for this part — replacement rivet nuts and bolts for the bash guards are included.
• Engine oil for topping off after installation (installer supplied).

Installation

• CSF does not publish a downloadable installation PDF for this part. Contact Speed Logic for installation support.
• The two rivet nuts holding the factory oil cooler bash guards must be drilled out to remove them; the new M6 rivet nuts and bolts are used to refit the guards.

Notes

• Fits G2x/G42 models with the B58D engine only. Cars with the B58N (B58TU2) engine are not supported. Check your VIN for the B58D engine before ordering, or confirm fitment with Speed Logic.
