OVERVIEW

Greater power gains come from a larger, more capable intercooler. The Dinan dual core intercooler delivers a 240% increase in face area along with an equally large increase in volume, cutting the charge air pressure drop to 0.8 psi while providing more efficient heat exchange and more consistent power output. Dinan's dual-core design runs two separate cores in conjunction with one another at all times, and that doubling of resources is directly responsible for a 60% improvement in the delta between charge air temperature and ambient temperature. Cool-down time is also reduced, so the car can produce full power in varying conditions such as stop-and-go traffic and heat soak becomes far less of a concern.

The system is engineered to be as direct a replacement for the stock unit as possible, requiring only minor modifications for a clean, factory-like installation. The increased thermal efficiency also benefits turbocharger reliability alongside outright power. On a stock vehicle, gains arrive from 4000 RPM and beyond, once the car is in boost. Dinan recommends pairing the intercooler with engine tuning for best results: with Dinan flash software the power band is more robust from 5000 RPM to redline, whereas untuned cars see the bulk of the gains from 6000 RPM to redline.

Notes

• Dinan states this intercooler must not be installed on vehicles equipped with Active Cruise Control, on any F23 or F33 convertible regardless of bumper, or on any F22 with standard (non M Sport) bumpers. Confirm fitment with Speed Logic before ordering.
