Evolution Racewerks Competition 4" Downpipe – BMW 328i / 428i (N20, F30 / F32)

OVERVIEW

The Evolution Racewerks Competition Series 4" Downpipe is built for the BMW N20 four-cylinder turbo engine and fits 2012 and newer 328i, 320i, 428i and 228i models with that engine. Deleting the restrictive factory catalytic converter is where most of the gain comes from: Evolution Racewerks measures 14 to 16 whp average and 16 wtq average on stock boost, rising to over 24 wtq with a software upgrade, with results varying by the rest of the vehicle's modifications.

The pipe is mandrel bent 4" stainless steel, TIG welded throughout, with a CNC machined turbocharger V-band flange and a factory-style stainless steel flex section that lets the exhaust move without loading the turbocharger and manifold. Optional wideband O2 and EGT bungs can be specified, and the downpipe works with the factory exhaust or an aftermarket system.

• Installer supplies normal hand tools, a vehicle lift or stands, and penetrating oil for the factory exhaust fasteners.

Installation

• Evolution Racewerks does not publish a downloadable installation guide for this downpipe. It installs as a direct replacement for the factory downpipe using the supplied hardware.
