OVERVIEW
H&R Sport Springs for the BMW F22 228i/230i Coupe are the standard first step in suspension tuning for the 2 Series. Replacing the factory coils lowers the car's center of gravity and cuts body roll, which sharpens handling and chassis balance while giving the car a more aggressive, still daily-drivable stance. H&R fits this kit whether or not the car has factory sport suspension.
The progressive spring rate is increased roughly 10–20% over stock, so the kit stays comfortable in normal driving and firms up for better body control when the road gets twisty.
H&R manufactures every spring in-house from 54SiCr6 spring steel and shot-peens it to increase service life by more than 200%, so the set will not settle or sag the way lesser coil springs do. Each spring is 100% tested before it leaves H&R's ISO 9001-certified production facility in Germany, and the company holds both TÜV and ISO 9001 quality certification.

TECH RESOURCES
Additional Parts Required
- Confirm factory sport suspension. H&R lists this kit for cars with or without factory sport suspension, but final ride height differs between the two — confirm which your car has before ordering.
- Spring compressor. A spring-only kit requires the struts to be disassembled, which needs a proper coil-spring compressor. Installer-supplied.
- Four-wheel alignment. H&R requires the alignment to be checked and reset any time ride height is changed. Budget for this before ordering.
- Professional installation. H&R states its springs and suspensions should be installed by professional suspension mechanics only. Improper installation voids the H&R warranty.
- Optional: matched sport-valved dampers, since a lowered car holds up better on a damper valved for the shorter spring.
Installation
- H&R Technical Information & Installation Guide (PDF) — spring identification and markings, dead and tender coils, ride-height measurement, bump-stop trim chart by part number, and alignment requirements.
- H&R Warranties & Claims (PDF) — official H&R warranty terms, coverage periods and claim procedure.
- Vehicle-specific fitting instructions are supplied in the box with the spring set. H&R does not publish a separate per-application installation PDF for this part.
Notes
- This part number is for the F22 228i/230i Coupe only. It is not for the M235i/M240i (H&R part 28891-2, a separate Speed Logic listing) and not for the F23 228i/230i convertible, which uses its own H&R part number (28896-2) and is not carried under this SKU.
- Lowering figures are H&R factory approximations and vary with suspension type, options and starting ride height. Confirm exact fitment with Speed Logic before ordering.
