KW Clubsport 2-Way Coilovers – BMW M3 Sedan (F80)

OVERVIEW

KW Clubsport is a coilover kit for the race track and the road, developed on the Nordschleife with track-day tires. Using the optional adjustable top mounts, suspension geometry can be matched to the tires being run and to the intended use of the car. KW now markets this two-way Clubsport line as the V3 Clubsport.

Independently adjustable rebound and compression damping allow the setup to be changed for vehicle load, tire characteristics and different track conditions. The rebound adjuster provides 16 precise clicks to dial in wheel and tire loads or to work around chassis characteristics, while compression damping is adjusted separately with 12 precise clicks in the low-speed range — most often used to tune the wheel and tire setup.

Between them, these adjustments let the driver account for vehicle weight, wheel and tire combinations, road surfaces and environmental conditions, which is what makes the Clubsport work on both the street and the circuit.

TECH RESOURCES

Additional Parts Required

• EDC cancellation kit — not included. Cars built with Adaptive M Suspension / Electronic Damper Control need a KW EDC cancellation kit to prevent a fault once the factory dampers are removed. Contact Speed Logic to source one.
• A four-wheel alignment is mandatory after installation and after any ride-height or top-mount geometry change.
• Professional installation is strongly recommended; spring compressors and BMW-specific strut tooling are required.
• Check tire-to-strut and tire-to-fender clearance before driving, particularly with track wheel and tire packages.
• Vehicles fitted with ride-height sensors (adaptive headlights, driver-assistance cameras) must have those systems recalibrated after lowering.

Notes

• This kit is specified for vehicles built before January 2015 with the three-bolt front top mount. Confirm your car's build date and top-mount type with Speed Logic before ordering.
