OVERVIEW

The Variant 3 is KW's two-way adjustable coilover and the one most people actually want. Compression and rebound are on separate adjusters, so you can firm up body control without also killing rebound compliance, and ride height is continuously adjustable across the kit's range. It is the sensible step up from a spring-only kit and a large step up from the factory strut.

The stock damper is the limiting part on the G22 430i xDrive and M440i xDrive. Factory valving is a single fixed compromise and the ride height is whatever the car left the line at. The V3 replaces the whole strut with a rebuildable, height-adjustable, damping-adjustable unit.

Additional Parts Required

• None for a car without factory EDC. If your car has EDC, this is not the correct kit — use KW 352200DA (EDC Bundle, front axle 1071–1170 kg), which includes the cancellation module.
• A corner-balance and a full four-wheel alignment are required after installation, and matter even more on an AWD car. Budget for both before the car is driven.
