MHD Super License – BMW S58 (M2 / M3 / M4 / X3M / X4M)

OVERVIEW

The MHD Flasher F+G Series is a complete flash tuning application for your BMW S58 M car. Unlike a piggyback module it performs full DME remapping while retaining all OEM safety mechanisms, which allows for maximum performance, maximum safety and unrivaled drivability.

You can install MHD at home and start tuning immediately. Download the MHD Flasher F+G Series app, connect the MHD wireless adapter to your vehicle's OBD-II port and pair it to your Apple iOS or Android device, then start the app — the initial installation completes in about 3.5 minutes with the MHD WiFi adapter, and further map changes take only roughly 20 seconds. You can return the vehicle to the factory OEM flash at any point, and no initial backup is required.

The Super License bundles every MHD function in one package: the Flasher license, the Monitor (datalogging and gauge) license, the full S58 off-the-shelf map library and the MHD+ custom code features.

MHD+ features (included)

• On-the-fly map switching: 4 slots per stage with per-slot fuel quality and a power level slider from 100% down to 60% in 5% steps
• Antilag: press and hold the cruise control speed down button on the steering wheel and apply heavy throttle, then release the button to launch once boost has built (about 1–2 seconds depending on turbo); coolant temp, EGT, maximum duration and cooldown safeties; adjustable boost target for OTS users
• Switchable burble aggressiveness and duration per map slot
• Cold start noise reduction per map slot
• On-the-fly exhaust flap control (always open, always closed or OEM) from the MHD+ Live Menu
• Ethanol content quick view when a compatible ethanol content analyzer is installed
• Advanced Motiv ReFlex integration: full 2-way CANBUS, DME limp on PI injector error, DME control of external wastegates and full control of supplemental port injection and its auxiliary outputs
• No lift shift on 6-speed manual cars
• Custom TCU limiter removal while keeping all safeties and OEM launch control
• KnockCEL for custom tunes (CEL blinks when timing corrections pass a tuner-set threshold)
• MHD MaxCool: runs the fan, sets a 72°C coolant target and sets the electronic thermostat and water pumps to high cooling; switched on from the LIVE tab under MHD+ Live Adjust
• MHD Real-Time Tuning: live editing of all major tables, including map switch and flex fuel slots, with the engine running

Monitor and diagnostics

• Configurable gauge layout with up to 8 fully adjustable gauges
• 50+ engine parameters available at a glance and logged in the background
• Datalogging to standard CSV files with a built-in log viewer; free log analysis offered by MHD
• Available monitors include boost, boost target, lambda (AFR), intake air temp, ignition timing per cylinder, coolant temp, oil temp, oil pressure, transmission temp, HPFP, throttle position, wastegate duty cycle, RPM, speed and EGT
• Advanced parameters not exposed by BMW, such as timing corrections per cylinder, boost setpoint and active torque limiter
• TCU logging on S58 (8HP transmission): clutch states, clutch solenoid currents, torque converter slip and clutch slip, running alongside DME logging
• Read / delete engine fault codes and reset adaptations
• Return to the factory OEM flash at any time; no initial backup required
• Custom tuner maps and JB4 backend maps can be loaded in addition to the MHD OTS maps

TECH RESOURCES

Additional Parts Required

• MHD Universal WIFI Adapter — required to flash. The license is software only; you must have a supported interface to connect the app to the car. Not included with the license-only variant of this listing.
• Alternative supported interface if you already own one: ENET cable plus a Lightning adapter (iOS only). MHD recommends its own WiFi adapter and cannot support third-party hardware.
• An Apple iOS 10.2+ or Android 6+ mobile device running the free MHD Flasher app — supplied by the customer.
• A free MHD account. Give us the account e-mail and the vehicle VIN at checkout; the license is bound to both.
• A battery charger or maintainer. MHD states a charger is highly recommended for the initial full write (install and uninstall) and for long writes on slower adapters.
• A DME unlock on many cars (see Notes below for which ones). Use the "Unlock Check" button in the MHD app to find out. Contact Speed Logic to arrange an S58 unlock.
• Optional — to run the FlexFuel maps you also need an ethanol content analyzer: MHD FlexFuel Kit - BMW G Series / Toyota Supra.

Installation

• Installation is performed by the customer through the MHD app over the OBD-II port; no workshop fitment is required.

• All purchases are final. MHD licenses are non-refundable and non-transferable.
• Your activation code is e-mailed within 12 hours of payment.
• Each license is tied to one vehicle VIN and one MHD account e-mail. A different car or account needs a new license.
• The MHD WiFi adapter is not included with the license-only option.
• Cars with the newest BMW software need a DME bench unlock, whatever the build date. Cars built after 06/2020 need a special unlock, with the DME sent to FEMTO or AutoTuner (USA and EU unlocks available, full MHD+ support).
