OVERVIEW

The Pure Stage 1 is Pure Turbos’ entry-level OEM-based turbo upgrade for the N54. Pure upgrades your factory turbochargers and keeps the OEM housings for a factory-like installation.

This is a core-exchange upgrade: send your turbos to Pure first, or pay a refundable core deposit and return your cores after your upgraded turbos arrive. You can keep the factory 1.75" turbo inlet snouts or upgrade to Pure’s Hi-Flow 2" snouts, which need aftermarket 2" inlets.

Additional Parts Required

• Custom ECU tune: recommended to make use of the upgraded turbos. Tuning platforms we sell: MHD Super License – BMW N54 or the Burger Motorsports JB4 Tuner (N54).
• A core: either send your original turbochargers in first, or pay the $300 refundable core deposit at order. Include the Pure Turbos core return sheet with your cores.
• 2" turbo inlets: required if you choose the Hi-Flow 2" inlet snouts. Pure’s 2" silicone inlet kit is available as an option on this listing, or see our PURE Hi-Flow Silicone Turbo Inlet Pipe Kits listing. The Pure inlet kit does not include diverter valve recirculation.
• Turbo gaskets, O-rings, and oil and coolant line seals: single-use items that should be replaced during installation. They are not supplied with the turbochargers.

Installation

• Pure Turbos installation, pre-lube and break-in procedure (manufacturer FAQ): pureturbos.com/faq. Pre-lube the turbocharger through the oil inlet, idle 5–10 minutes without revving, then drive on low boost / light throttle until the car is properly tuned.
• Pure Turbos does not publish model-specific installation instructions or videos for this upgrade. Installation follows the factory turbocharger replacement procedure for the chassis; professional installation is recommended.
• Pure Turbos core return sheet (PDF): pure-turbos-core-return-sheet.pdf. Print it, fill it in and include it with your core shipment.
• Before sending cores to Pure, remove all accessories and hardware from them (oil lines, coolant lines, actuators, inlets and similar). Pure discards anything that is not part of the core unit.

Notes

• Send-in option: lead time starts once Pure receives your turbos.
• Core deposit option: the $300 deposit is refunded once your factory turbos are returned to Pure within 60 days of receiving your upgrade. Pure lists separate deposit choices for the 335i LHD and for all other models; both are $300.
• Pure’s product page does not state whether the price covers one or both turbochargers (the N54 is twin-turbo). Confirm with Speed Logic before ordering.
• Pure Turbos includes a limited 1-year / unlimited-mile warranty.
• Legal notice: these parts are for off-road use only and are legal solely for competition racing vehicles as defined under California law. They are not legal for use on public roads.
• Price is for the turbocharger(s) only; labor is not included.
