Pure Turbos PURE800 Turbo Upgrade – BMW B58 G-Series (Gen 2)

OVERVIEW

The Pure800 is Pure Turbos' OEM-based turbo upgrade for the second-generation (Gen 2) B58 3.0L engine. Pure rebuilds your factory B58 turbocharger with a billet compressor wheel, a high-flow turbine wheel and an upgraded center housing rotating assembly (CHRA), keeping the OEM housing for a factory-like installation. Pure Turbos rates it as 700+ whp capable, with results depending on fuel and supporting modifications.

This is a core-exchange upgrade, offered in 6-Port and 2-Port manifold versions. Choose whether to send your factory turbo to Pure first, or pay a refundable core deposit and return your core after your upgraded turbo arrives.

Additional Parts Required

• Custom ECU tune: required by Pure Turbos for engine safety and to reach the rated power. Tune options we stock: MHD Super License for B58 (F + G Series), bootmod3 B58 tune, JB4 Tuner for B58 Gen 1 & Gen 2.
• Turbo gaskets, O-rings, and oil and coolant line seals: single-use items that should be replaced during installation; not supplied with the turbocharger.
• Supporting fuel system: needed at higher power levels, e.g. an E85 blend with an upgraded high-pressure fuel pump such as the Dorch Stage 2.5 HPFP Upgrade – B58 Gen 2, or a flex-fuel kit such as the MHD FlexFuel Kit (Automatic) – G-Series. Confirm your fueling before ordering; we can advise.
• Core turbocharger: this is a core-exchange upgrade. Send your factory turbo to Pure Turbos first, or pay the refundable core deposit and return your core after the upgrade arrives.

Installation

• Pure Turbos pre-lube and break-in procedure (manufacturer FAQ): pureturbos.com/faq. Pour clean engine oil into the turbo oil inlet and spin the compressor wheel by hand to coat the bearings, then idle 5–10 minutes without revving.
• Pure Turbos core return sheet (PDF): pure-turbos-core-return-sheet.pdf. Print it, fill it in and include it with your core shipment.
• Pure Turbos does not publish installation instructions or videos for this upgrade; professional installation is recommended.
• Before sending your core to Pure, remove all accessories and hardware from it (oil lines, coolant lines, actuators, inlets and similar). Pure discards anything that is not part of the core unit.

Notes

• Send-in option: lead time starts once Pure receives your turbo.
• Core deposit option: the $1,500 deposit is refunded once your factory turbo is returned to Pure within 60 days of receiving your upgrade.
• Choose the Turbo Manifold Type that matches your car: 6-Port (2020+ Z4 / M240i / M340i / M440i / X3 / X4) or 2-Port (2020+ Z4 / 540i / 640i / 740i / 840i / X5 / X6 / X7). The two are not interchangeable. Pure's 2-Port label also names the 640i, 740i and 840i, which are not in Pure's fitment guide; contact Speed Logic to confirm fitment for those models.
• The Install Kit option is a Speed Logic add-on; Pure Turbos does not sell an install kit with this turbo.
• The included Pure Turbos Hi-Flow inlet is compatible with the factory airbox and most upgraded intake systems, but it is not a direct fit with the Eventuri intake system.
• B58 Gen 2 (2020+) only. Gen 1 cars (F-Series 340i / 440i / M240i / M140i and pre-2020 G-Series) take the B58 Gen 1 range.
• Pure also lists the Toyota GR Supra (A90 / A91, 2020–2026) for this turbo; Supra owners should order from our GR Supra listing.
• Pure Turbos includes a limited 1-year / unlimited-mile warranty.
