Burger Motorsports JB4 Tuner – BMW M3 / M4 / M2C (S55, F8x)

OVERVIEW

Plug-and-play power on the S55 with the factory ECU left completely alone. The JB4 works through the engine's sensor network and CANbus rather than flashing the DME, so there is no VIN lock, no flash counter, and no drama pulling it back out. Installation takes about 20 minutes with hand tools.

Burger Motorsports quotes gains of up to 80whp and 100wtq on pump gas, and up to 120whp and 140wtq on higher octane or E85 mixtures. Two versions are offered: the Normal unit for stock-turbo and bolt-on cars, and a Tial external wastegate version for large turbo systems running external wastegates.

Additional Parts Required

• The correct version selected at checkout — Normal for stock-turbo and bolt-on cars, or Tial external wastegate for large turbo systems.
• Fuel matched to the map: 91 octane or better pump gas for the stage maps, 100 octane unleaded race fuel for map 7, or an ethanol blend for E85 running.
• A methanol injection kit if you intend to run map 8; the JB4 controls the kit but does not include one.
• A smartphone (iOS or Android) running the free JB4 Mobile app for map switching, live gauges, datalogging and firmware updates.

• Burger Motorsports does not publish an official part number for this tuner, so no part number is listed. S55 engine only — the N55-powered F87 M2 uses our F-Chassis N55 JB4 instead. If you would rather flash the ECU, we also carry the MHD Super License and the bootmod3 tune for the S55.
