MHD Super License – BMW S55 (F-Series)

OVERVIEW

The MHD Flasher F+G Series is a complete flash tuning application for your BMW S55 M car. Unlike a piggyback module it performs full DME remapping while retaining all OEM safety mechanisms, which allows for maximum performance, maximum safety and unrivaled drivability.

You can install MHD at home and start tuning immediately. Download the MHD Flasher F+G Series app, connect the MHD wireless adapter to your vehicle's OBD-II port and pair it to your Apple iOS or Android device, then start the app — the initial installation takes about 3.5 minutes with the MHD WiFi adapter, and further map changes take only about 19 seconds. You can return the vehicle to the factory OEM flash at any point, and no initial backup is required.

The Super License bundles every MHD function in one package: the Flasher license, the Monitor (datalogging and gauge) license, all three S55 map packs and the MHD+ custom code features.

MHD+ features (included)

• On-the-fly map switching: 4 slots per stage with per-slot fuel quality and a power level slider from 100% down to 50% in 5% steps
• Antilag: hold the cruise control RES button and apply heavy throttle; even large upgraded turbos can reach high boost within 1–2 seconds; temperature, maximum duration and cooldown safeties; adjustable boost target for OTS users
• Switchable burble aggressiveness and duration per map slot
• On-the-fly exhaust flap control (always open, always closed or OEM)
• Ethanol content quick view when a compatible ethanol content analyzer is installed
• Full and native integration with the Motiv ReFlex controller over 2-way CANBUS, including DME limp on PI injector error and DME control of external wastegates
• No Lift Shift on manual cars: shift at wide-open throttle with the clutch depressed
• PI safety (coil cut): disables a cylinder's coil when its injection is cut, preventing lean cylinders

Monitor and diagnostics

• Configurable gauge layout with up to 8 fully adjustable gauges
• 50+ engine parameters available at a glance and logged in the background
• Datalogging to standard CSV files with a built-in log viewer; free log analysis offered by MHD
• Available monitors include boost, boost target, lambda (AFR), intake air temp, ignition timing per cylinder, coolant temp, oil temp, oil pressure, transmission temp, HPFP, throttle position, wastegate duty cycle, RPM, speed and EGT
• Advanced parameters not exposed by BMW, such as timing corrections per cylinder, boost setpoint and active torque limiter (availability depends on DME software version if the car has not been flashed)
• Read / delete engine fault codes and reset adaptations
• Return to the factory OEM flash at any time; no initial backup required
• Custom tuner maps and JB4 backend maps can be loaded in addition to the MHD OTS maps

TECH RESOURCES

Additional Parts Required

• MHD Universal WIFI Adapter — required to flash. The license is software only; you must have a supported interface to connect the app to the car. Not included with the license-only variant of this listing.
• Alternative supported interface if you already own one: ENET cable plus a Lightning adapter (iOS only), or K-DCAN cable plus an OTG adapter (Android only). MHD recommends its own WiFi adapter and cannot support third-party hardware.
• An Apple iOS 10.2+ or Android 6+ mobile device running the free MHD Flasher app — supplied by the customer.
• A free MHD account. Give us the account e-mail and the vehicle VIN at checkout; the license is bound to both.
• A battery charger or maintainer. MHD states a charger is highly recommended for the initial full write (install and uninstall) and for long writes on slower adapters.
• A DME bench unlock or special unlock on some cars (see Notes below). Contact Speed Logic to confirm unlock options for your S55 DME before ordering.
• Optional — to run the FlexFuel maps you also need an ethanol content analyzer: MHD FlexFuel Kit - F Series B48/B58/N55/S55.

Installation

• Installation is performed by the customer through the MHD app over the OBD-II port; no workshop fitment is required.

• All purchases are final. MHD licenses are non-refundable and non-transferable.
• Your activation code is e-mailed within 12 hours of payment.
• Each license is tied to one vehicle VIN and one MHD account e-mail. A different car or account needs a new license.
• The M2 Competition and EU M4 with OPF always need a DME bench unlock, done with professional tools, before MHD can flash over OBD.

VEHICLE APPLICATIONS

Years shown are US model years. MHD lists production years (M3 2014–2019, M4 2014–2020, M4 GTS 2016, M2 Competition 2018–2021), so its start years are a year earlier than the model year; cars built around a changeover should be confirmed by VIN / build date with Speed Logic before ordering. The M2 CS is not listed by MHD for this license. Cars built after 06/2020 need a special unlock, and the M2 Competition and EU M4 with OPF always need a bench unlock (see Notes).
