Burger Motorsports JB4 Tuner – BMW M3 / M4 / M2 (S58, G8x)

OVERVIEW

Around 80 wheel horsepower and 100 lb-ft on pump gas, and up to 150whp and 175wtq on higher octane or E85 — with the factory ECU completely untouched. The JB4 talks to the S58 through its sensor network and CANbus, which is why it works on locked DMEs and does not break when BMW pushes an over-the-air update. Installation is plug-and-play, no wire splicing, and fully reversible.

Both the standard JB4 and the JB4PRO include the JB4PRO Bluetooth adapter and the free app, so wireless map switching, live gauges, datalogging and firmware updates from your phone are standard either way. The JB4PRO is a different board built for heavily modified cars. Stock or bolt-ons, the standard JB4 is the right call; building toward E85, port injection or methanol, go PRO.

Additional Parts Required

• 91 octane minimum for the pump gas maps; higher octane or an E85 blend to reach the quoted 150whp/175wtq figures.
• A compatible smartphone running the free JB4PRO app for map switching, live gauges, datalogging and firmware updates. The Bluetooth adapter is included with both the JB4 and the JB4PRO.
• On a standard JB4 running ethanol, add the JB4 Fuel Pressure Upgrade Kit for direct fuel pressure and fuel trim control. Skip it if you are buying the JB4PRO — that is already built in.
• Port injection, CPI or WMI control on the JB4PRO requires the PnP add-on harness, sold separately.

Notes

• Burger Motorsports does not publish an official part number for this tuner, so no part number is listed. Driving an X3M or X4M? Use the S58 JB4 for the F97/F98 chassis instead. If you would rather flash the ECU, we also carry the MHD Super License and the bootmod3 tune for the S58.
