OVERVIEW

The Evolution Racewerks Charge Pipe Kit replaces the factory plastic charge pipe on the F chassis N55 single-turbo six cylinder engine. Once boost is turned up with a tune the factory pipe is prone to splitting, and this kit replaces it with mandrel bent 6061 aluminum that Evolution Racewerks backs with a Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Charged intake airflow is often overlooked, but it has a direct effect on throttle response, turbo lag and ultimately maximum power. Smooth bends and minimal obstructions are what matter, so the pipe uses mandrel bent 6061 tubing and steps up to 3" at the throttle body where the factory pipe is only 2.5", giving full flow with no step at the throttle plate.

Evolution Racewerks was the first manufacturer to duplicate the factory throttle body flange on an N54 charge pipe and brings the same design to the N55 pipe. The factory connection uses an o-ring inside the throttle body flange locked in place by a c-clip. It seals well, makes removal and installation quick, and in Evolution Racewerks testing it was pressure tested to 25 PSI without any sign of failure — testing stopped there only because a turbo intake pipe blew off. BMW uses the same style of connection in the cooling and clutch systems.

SPECS

Lightweight high grade 6061 aluminum, mandrel bent piping
Throttle body matched 3" piping, where the factory charge pipe is 2.5"
Retains the factory style o-ring throttle body lock flange
Precision CNC machined throttle body flange for a leak free connection and quick removal and installation
Precision CNC machined MAP sensor flange for a leak free connection
Beaded ends with T-bolt clamps so the intercooler piping cannot blow off under boost
Two 1/8" NPT bungs for methanol or nitrous injection, or as a boost source
Pressure tested to 25 PSI in Evolution Racewerks testing
Compatible with the factory electronic diverter valve
Finishes: brush (standard), mirror polish, or Type III hard black anodizing for a stealth OEM look; hard anodizing also hardens the aluminum against denting
TIG welded construction
Made in the USA
Lead time: allow up to 1 week for polished and 2.5 weeks for anodized black; some in-stock configurations ship same day
Warranty: Evolution Racewerks Limited Lifetime Warranty.
