OVERVIEW
Water/methanol injection for forced induction (turbocharged or supercharged) gas-powered race engines is a proven means of effectively reducing engine inlet air temperatures and suppressing harmful detonation. This allows racers to reliably increase boost and advance ignition timing, without using high-octane racing fuel, for power gains of up to 20%. AEM's water injection kits use robust hardware and deliver more advanced features than any other comparably priced water/methanol injection system.
This is the HD kit supplied without a reservoir, for installers who want to run a third-party or custom tank. It uses the boost-dependent HD Controller with an on-board manifold absolute pressure sensor and a molded-in nipple for the boost hose pickup, rated to a 40 PSI maximum, which makes it suited to high boost race and diesel applications. AEM's multiple-input controller design (kit PN 30-3350) covers high compression naturally aspirated engines and boost levels above the on-board sensor's range.

Additional Parts Required
- Reservoir tank — not included with this kit. A third-party or custom tank is required; AEM supplies the fitting to connect one. Speed Logic does not currently stock a standalone tank — if you would rather buy a kit with the reservoir included, see the AEM V3 Water/Methanol Injection Kit 30-3301 (HD controller, 5-gallon tank) or the AEM V3 Water/Methanol Injection Kit 30-3300 (standard controller, 1-gallon tank).
- Water/methanol injection fluid — not supplied. A water/methanol mixture must be added to the tank before use; see the AEM instructions below for the approved mixtures and safety handling.
- A boost source — the HD Controller is boost dependent and must be plumbed to a manifold pressure source via the barbed nipple.
- Installer-supplied: a drill and tap to fit the injector bung into the intake tract, hand tools, wire crimping and stripping tools, and a switched 12V ignition source.
- Recommended: a calibrated engine tune once the system is installed, so boost and timing can safely take advantage of the charge cooling.

Notes
- AEM's installation instructions state that this water/methanol injection system is designed for race vehicles only.
- AEM lists this kit as a universal fit part rather than a vehicle-specific application. Confirm packaging and routing for your car with Speed Logic before ordering.
