OVERVIEW
The genuine Continental (VDO) flex fuel sensor measures the ethanol-to-gasoline ratio of the fuel in the vehicle so a flex-fuel-capable setup can run any blend of ethanol and gasoline. It has quick-connect fuel fittings for incoming and outgoing fuel and installs in the main fuel feed line, so all fuel passes through it before reaching the rail. The sensor measures alcohol content and outputs a frequency signal to an ethanol content analyzer — the flex fuel input on a MOTIV ReFlex+ or FlexFuel+, or an MHD / Bootmod3 flex fuel kit — giving the DME / ECU a live ethanol percentage.
