Product details
OVERVIEW
The KW DDC ECU coilover kit adds electronically adjustable damping to the F87 M2, which leaves the factory with passive dampers. KW's own DDC control unit drives the dampers, and a supplied in-cabin button switches between three vehicle-specific setups: Comfort, Sport and Sport+. The button changes color to show the active mode.
In Comfort mode the control unit also reacts to sudden maneuvers, firming the damping in milliseconds. The kit uses KW's inox-line stainless steel strut housings with a dirt-resistant trapezoidal thread, composite spring collars and a height-adjustable rear perch, so ride height stays adjustable within the tested range. With KW's optional WLAN module, the damping can also be adjusted per axle from the KW DDC app.

TECH RESOURCES
Additional Parts Required
- None. KW specifies no additional hardware for the M2 and M2 Competition.
- M2 CS only: KW's instructions require the factory adaptive damper control to be deactivated. See KW ESC Cancellation Modules – BMW F8X / G8X / G87 (68510390 covers the F87 M2 CS) and confirm with Speed Logic before ordering.
- A four-wheel alignment is required after installation and after any ride-height change.
- Installation requires soldering the supplied CAN adapter to the vehicle CAN lines and routing four damper cables into the trunk; professional installation is strongly recommended.
- Check tire-to-strut and tire-to-fender clearance at the chosen ride height; KW specifies a minimum of 5 mm.
- Cars with ride-height sensors or camera/radar driver-assistance systems need those systems adjusted or recalibrated after lowering.
