KW ESC Cancellation Modules – BMW F8X / G8X / G87

OVERVIEW

These are the accessories that make a KW coilover installation actually finish cleanly. Two of them solve the same problem: a modern BMW with adaptive M suspension expects to see a real electronic damper on each corner, and when you fit a non-electronic coilover the car notices immediately and lights the dash. The ESC cancellation modules are a pair of plug-in emulators that sit in the OE damper connectors and keep the control unit satisfied, so a V3, V4 or Clubsport kit can go on an EDC car without fault codes.

Which module you need is chassis-specific, not damper-specific. 68510390 covers the F80 / F82 / F83 M3 and M4 and the F87 M2 CS. 68511187 covers the G80 and G81 M3, the G82 and G83 M4 and the G87 M2. If you bought a KW kit whose part number ends in Bundle, the modules are already in the box and you do not need to buy them again.

Additional Parts Required

• Nothing further is required for the ESC modules themselves — they are plug-and-play into the OE damper connectors. They are the additional part, bought alongside a non-Bundle KW coilover kit.
• The ESC modules are needed with our KW Coilover Kit Variant 3 (V3), KW Coilover Kit Variant 4 (V4) and KW V4 Clubsport & V3 Clubsport listings whenever a non-Bundle part number is fitted to an EDC car.
• Fitting an ESC module does not by itself require an alignment, but the coilover installation it accompanies does — a corner-balance and a full four-wheel alignment are required after any coilover install.

Notes

• 68510390 is stocked by KW and ships in 1–2 days.
• Do not buy an ESC module alongside a Bundle coilover kit — the modules are already included in every KW Bundle part number.
• ESC modules are not required with KW H.A.S. spring kits or with DDC coilover kits; both of those retain a working electronic damper circuit.
• KW's front camber correction kit 68511167 is deliberately not offered here. KW does not publish its vehicle application and the fitment could not be confirmed. Contact us if you need it and we will confirm the application with KW North America first.
• Vehicle applications corrected against KW's own fitment chart on store.kwsuspensions.com: 68511187 (G-chassis) additionally covers M3 Competition xDrive, M3 CS, M4 Competition xDrive, M4 CS and M4 CSL trims not previously listed, and years now run through the current 2026 model year rather than stopping at 2021/2023. 68510390 (F-chassis) additionally covers the M4 CS (2019–2020) and M4 GTS (2016) special editions. The G87 M2 and F87 M2 CS rows are retained even though KW's own fitment tool omits them for these SKUs — both fitments are independently confirmed by authorized KW resellers (coiloverdepot.com for 68511187/G87, nforcd.com for 68510390/M2 CS).
