OVERVIEW
The open airbox version of Mishimoto's G8X intake trades the sealed boxes for open-element filters behind black powder-coated steel heat shields. It lets the twin turbos breathe freely and brings the spool and bypass valve sound forward into the cabin.
It uses the same rotational-molded tubes, CNC-machined aluminum connectors and passenger-side turbo outlet as the sealed kit, and installs in under an hour without removing the bumper or undertray.

Additional Parts Required
- None. The kit is a complete bolt-on system.
- Optional calibration: MHD Super License – BMW S58 or Bootmod3 Tune – BMW S58. Mishimoto rates the intake safe on the stock tune.

Notes
- Clean and re-oil the filters every 10,000–15,000 miles under normal driving, and more often in dusty conditions. Re-oiling is not covered by the warranty.
- Check every clamp, coupler and fitting for proper tightness before driving, and recheck them after the first few miles.
