Precision Raceworks N20 / N26 Ignition Kit – BMW 228i / 328i / 428i (N20 / N26)

OVERVIEW

The Precision Raceworks N20 / N26 High Performance Ignition Kit is the four-cylinder version of the company's high-output coil system, built for every BMW running the N20 or N26 2.0L turbo inline-four. The coils use the same high-voltage, high-current design derived from marine and aerospace applications, paired with low-resistance 50 ohm/ft proprietary plug wires and 100% plug-and-play OEM-style weatherproof quick-connect wiring.

No tune is required to run the kit. With supporting software from major flash and tuning companies, coil output can be raised to 118 mJ. Full DME control of the ignition coils and the factory cooled control strategy are retained, and all components use dust- and water-resistant seals that meet or exceed OEM requirements.

There is a single mounting configuration for the N20 / N26, so the only choice is coil colour — blue or black — which changes the part number but not the price. Expect fewer coil failures, fewer misfires, crisper throttle response and a smoother idle.

TECH RESOURCES

Required Extras

• No additional parts are required to run the kit; it is plug and play and no tune is needed.
• Recommended at install: a fresh set of correctly gapped spark plugs. NGK 97506 Laser Iridium Spark Plug Set (set of 4).
• Supporting software from a major flash or tuning company is optional and is what raises coil output to 118 mJ.
• Replacement N20 / N26 plug wires (pack of 4) are sold separately (not stocked by Speed Logic).

• Installation instructions are supplied with the kit; Precision Raceworks does not publish a public install guide for this part.

Notes

• Fits N20 and N26 (SULEV) engines only. Six-cylinder cars take the N54 Ignition Kit or N55 Ignition Kit.
• Confirm your engine code before ordering — 2017+ 230i / 330i / 430i cars use the B46 / B48 engine and are not covered by this kit.
