Precision Raceworks N54 Ignition Kit – BMW 135i / 335i (E8x / E9x)

OVERVIEW

The Precision Raceworks BMW N54 High Performance Ignition Kit is designed to integrate with any vehicle running the N54 engine. It is the highest-output ignition system Precision Raceworks has developed for the N54 community, built around a high-voltage, high-current coil design that borrows technology from marine and aerospace applications, and connected with 100% plug-and-play OEM weatherproof quick-connect wiring and low-resistance 50 ohm/ft proprietary plug wires.

Software tuning of the vehicle is not required to run the kit. With supporting software from most major flash and tuning companies, coil output can be raised to 118 mJ. All components meet or exceed OEM requirements and use seals that are both dust and water resistant, and full DME control of the ignition coils along with the factory cooled control system are retained.

The kit can be mounted in the location that suits your build: stock location directly above the spark plugs, on the OEM manifold at the direct injection fuel rail, or on an aftermarket intake manifold. Additional Parts Required

• Aftermarket manifold configuration only: an aftermarket intake manifold is required — this mounting kit is designed for use with aftermarket inlets and will not fit the stock manifold.
• OEM manifold configuration only: the factory airbox and the manifold post must be removed to fit the coils to the direct injection fuel rail.
• Stock location configuration only: the foam must be removed from the underside of the engine cover.
• No tune is required. Supporting software from a major flash or tuning company is optional and is what raises coil output to 118 mJ.
• Recommended service item: a fresh set of correctly gapped spark plugs at the same time as the coil install. See our NGK Spark Plug 97506 (101-0149) listing, which is two heat ranges colder for the N54.

Notes

• Both the coil location and the colour change the vendor part number, but never the price — all six configurations are the same cost.
• N55 cars take a different kit with only two mounting options. See our Precision Raceworks N55 Ignition Kit listing.
• Precision Raceworks also lists 2011–2017 535i fitment for this kit; those cars left the factory with the N55 engine, so that row is excluded here. Confirm your engine code with Speed Logic before ordering against an F10.
