Pure Turbos Stage 2+ Upgrade Turbos – BMW M2 / M3 / M4 (S55)

OVERVIEW

The Pure Stage 2+ is Pure Turbos' OEM-based turbo upgrade for the S55 engine in the F80 M3, F82/F83 M4 and F87 M2 Competition / CS, and the step above the Pure Stage 2 (Hi-Flow). Pure rebuilds the factory S55 turbochargers with a billet compressor wheel, a larger high-flow turbine wheel and an upgraded bearing housing, while keeping the OEM housings for a factory fit. Pure Turbos rates the upgrade as 900+ whp capable, with results depending on fuel and supporting modifications.

This is a core-exchange upgrade. Choose whether to send your factory turbos to Pure first, or pay a refundable core deposit and return your cores after your upgraded turbos arrive. An S55 install kit can be added at checkout.

TECH RESOURCES

Additional Parts Required

• Custom ECU tune: required by Pure Turbos for engine safety and to reach the rated power. Do not use wide-open throttle until the car is tuned. Tune options we stock: MHD Super License for F-Series S55, bootmod3 S55 tune, JB4 Tuner for S55.
• Turbo gaskets, O-rings, and oil and coolant line seals: single-use items that should be replaced during installation. Select the S55 Install Kit option on this listing (+$190) or source your own.
• Supporting fuel system: needed at higher power levels, e.g. an E85 blend and an upgraded high-pressure fuel pump such as the Dorch S55 Lift Kit HPFP Upgrade. Confirm your fueling before ordering; we can advise.
• Core turbos: send your factory S55 turbos to Pure first, or pay the refundable core deposit and return them within 60 days.

Installation

• Pure Turbos turbocharger FAQ: install and operation (pre-lube, first start and break-in). Pre-lube the turbo through the oil inlet and spin the compressor wheel by hand, idle 5–10 minutes without revving, then drive on low boost / light throttle until the car is tuned.
• Pure Turbos does not publish model-specific installation instructions or videos for this upgrade; professional installation is recommended.
• Pure Turbos core return sheet (PDF): print it, fill it in and include it with your core shipment.
• Before sending cores to Pure, remove all accessories and hardware from them (oil lines, coolant lines, actuators, inlets and similar). Pure discards anything that is not part of the core unit.

Notes

• Send-in option: lead time starts once Pure receives your turbos.
• Core deposit option: the $1,500 deposit is refunded once your factory turbos are returned to Pure within 60 days of receiving your upgrade.
• Removal or modification of the turbo heat shields may be required for proper fitment.
• Pure Turbos includes a limited 1-year / unlimited-mile warranty.
