OVERVIEW

The PURE400 (NEW) is a Pure Turbos turbo upgrade for the 2.0L B48 (Gen 1) four-cylinder, built on a new aftermarket housing to the OEM design for a direct-fit installation on the factory turbine manifold. It combines an upgraded billet compressor wheel, a high-flow turbine wheel and an upgraded center housing rotating assembly (CHRA). Pure Turbos rates it as 350+ whp capable, with results depending on fuel and supporting modifications.

Because the housing is new, there is no core exchange and no core deposit; your factory turbo stays with you.

Additional Parts Required

• ECU tune: a custom tune is highly recommended by Pure Turbos to unlock the full power and for engine safety. Off-the-shelf maps can be used, but performance is limited to that map's parameters. Tune options we stock: Bootmod3 B46/B48 Tune, Burger Motorsports JB4 Tuner for B38/B46/B48.
• Turbo gaskets, O-rings, oil and coolant line seals: single-use items that should be replaced during installation. They are not supplied with the turbocharger.
• Supporting fuel system: needed at higher power levels. Confirm your fueling before ordering; we can advise.

Installation

• Pure Turbos does not publish installation instructions or videos for this upgrade; professional installation is recommended.
• Pure Turbos installation, pre-lube, break-in and core-return guide (PDF): pure-turbos-install-and-break-in-guide.pdf. Pre-lube the turbocharger through the oil inlet, idle 5–10 minutes without revving, then drive on low boost / light throttle until the car is properly tuned.
