OVERVIEW
The charge pipe carries compressed air from the intercooler to the throttle body. On most modern turbocharged engines it is molded plastic, and it is one of the first parts to fail once boost goes above stock. The failure is usually sudden: the pipe splits or a coupler blows off, the car dumps its boost and goes into limp mode. Mishimoto replaces the plastic with mandrel-bent aluminum, silicone couplers and worm gear clamps.
On the B58 in the GR Supra 3.0, Mishimoto's 3-inch aluminum pipe replaces the fragile stock plastic charge pipe and flows up to 42% more than stock. It is built from two mandrel-bent pipes with CNC-machined flanges, finished in wrinkle red.
